Dr. Mark James works as a Medical Ophthalmologist for the Diabetic Retinopathy Treatment Centre in Cork University Hospital. He is also the Clinical Lecturer in Ophthalmology for University College Cork. The Medical Eye Clinic in the 4th Practice provides an extensive treatment facility at MPHC, the main aim of which is to have an eye doctor working in the community, with emphasis on prevention of eye disease, and treatment of both urgent and non-urgent conditions. This includes diabetic retinopathy screening, glaucoma management, age-related macular degeneration monitoring, squint assessment, prescribing glasses for children, and minor surgical procedures involving the eyelids, just to name a few of the services available.
