THE 5th anniversary of the Mallow Primary Healthcare Centre is the ideal time to reflect on just what has been achieved. We are immensely proud that MPHC was Ireland’s first and largest primary health care centre and as such, is a leading example of private and public services coming together and co-operating under one roof to serve the local community at grassroots level.
Placed as it is in Mallow at the crossroads of Munster, the MPHC is ideally located to serve over 100,000 people between the GP practices, HSE services and the enhanced medical services on offer at the 4th Practice. The practices here deal with over 30,000 patients, with around 1,000 people coming through our doors every single day. MPHC is working with tomorrow’s medical professionals, with medical students and GP registrars taking their first practical steps into the profession here. MPHC also works closely with a number of partners on research projects and some of the initiatives developed and trialled at MPHC have been rolled out nationally. We are proud to be a paperless building, with fully automated systems and not only meeting the highest of international recognised standards, but setting the standard for similar centres.
While the initial objectives have been achieved, we know there is the potential for further expansion and growth in the coming years. There are 250 people employed at MPHC all ensuring that the very best of care is delivered to our patients, as above all else, the patient is at the very centre of what we do here at MPHC and we want to thank them for their support over the last 5 years.
Please join us for a Community Fun Day in MPHC on Friday 29th April at 12 noon and help us celebrate our first 5 years.
